Crude oil prices slid $1.06 Tuesday to about $41 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, following a global sell-off in stock markets.
Crude oil prices are following the ups and downs of the overall economy -- mostly down for the past eight months.
Crude oil prices reached $41.15 per barrel Tuesday. Heating oil prices gained 0.0338 cents to $1.185 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline rose 0.0166 cents to $1.3028 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.134 cents to $4.286 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.933 Tuesday, up slightly from Monday's $1.932 a gallon, AAA said.
