MW: Gold futures edge lower, as U.S. stock futures gain
Gold futures edged lower Tuesday, as gains in U.S. stock futures reduced the metal's safe-haven appeal. Gold for April delivery fell $3 to $915 an ounce in electronic trading on Globex. "A steadier tone across regional equity markets, combined with weaker demand for jewelry, weighed on sentiment," said analysts at Action Economics. "There is a risk of another challenge of $900 if equity markets can sustain a push higher, which would encourage some unwinding of safe haven longs in gold."
