TH: Markets open higher, Sensex up by 1.42 per cent
Indian markets opened in the green on Thursday, with a key index ruling 1.42 per cent higher than its last closing figure.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) opened at 9,739.93 points, higher than its 9,667.9 point close on Wednesday. About 10 minutes into trade, it was at 9,804.96 points, 1.42 per cent or 137.06 points above its previous close.
The S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 3,022.9 points, 1.29 per cent up from its last close of 2,984.35.
The BSE midcap index was ruling 1.18 per cent higher than its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index was up 0.95 per cent.
