RTRS: Nikkei falls 2.7 pct on US auto task force decision
Japan's Nikkei average extended its losses to fall 2.7 percent on Monday, after the Obama administration autos task force rejected the turnaround plans of General Motors Corp (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Chrysler LLC.
The benchmark Nikkei .N225 slid 234.22 points to 8,392.75, while the broader Topix .TOPX dropped 2.8 percent to 801.14.
The dollar slipped 0.7 percent to 97.32 yen , while the euro extended its losses to 128.48 yen , down 1.3 percent on the day (Reporting by Rika Otsuka)
