MW: U.S. stocks trim declines after latest economic data
U.S. stocks shaved their losses on Wednesday after reports showed the pace of contraction in manufacturing slowed in March while construction spending fell less than forecast. Down more than 100 points earlier on, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was more recently off 45.96 points at 7,562.96. The S&P 500 Index declined 6.46 points to 791.41. The Nasdaq Composite fell 19.14 points to 1,509.45.
