MB: Most base metals slip in LME premarket as dollar firms
Most base metals prices faltered in early trading on the London Metal Exchange on Monday as the US dollar firmed against the euro, offsetting falling copper and aluminium stocks.
All six base metals opened higher than their official prices on Friday but five of the contracts fell in early trading as the dollar rose to trade at $1.30 against the euro.
Three-month copper opened at $4,750 per tonne compared with $4,720/21 in the official session on Friday.
The red metal then fell to an intraday low of $4,704 per tonne even as stocks fell a net 7,300 tonnes in bonded warehouses.
