RTRS: Euro falls vs dollar ahead of ECB, stress tests
The euro erased earlier gains against the dollar on Tuesday as U.S. stock prices weakened and uncertainty about U.S. bank stress tests and a European Central Bank meeting this week dulled investors' risk appetite.
The euro, which earlier set a fresh one-month high near $1.3440 , fell 0.3 percent to $1.3365. It also shed 0.3 percent to 132.20 yen .
The ECB meets on Thursday and is expected to cut rates to a record low 1 percent, but markets are unsure whether officials will signal additional steps such as buying securities to boost growth.
Stress test results of top U.S. banks are also due on Thursday, and a source familiar with official talks told Reuters about 10 of the 19 being tested will be told they need to raise more capital.
