MW: Dollar's slide deepens after FOMC minutes
 
The U.S. dollar slid further against its major counterparts Wednesday after minutes from the last Federal Open Market Committee meeting showed some members wanted to buy more Treasurys. The U.S. dollar index , already at five-month lows ahead of the afternoon release, slid to 81.147 vs. 81.194 shortly before the 2 p.m. Eastern time statement. One euro bought $1.3812 vs. $1.3701 ahead of the release, putting the euro's gain at 1.4% for the day. The U.S. dollar bought 94.88 Japanese yen vs. 95.01 ahead of the release, for a 1.1% daily loss for the greenback.
