SM: Asian markets decline as economic conditions remain weak
 
Japanese markets dropped on concerns that exporters could be hurt by a stronger yen as most Asian shares suffered losses Thursday. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 gave up 0.9%, as did New Zealand's NZX 50. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.3%, South Korea's Kospi dipped 1% and China's Shanghai Composite slid 1.5%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 1.6%, and Singapore's Straits Times was down 1.1%.
