The 30-share BSE index .BSESN ended down 2.9 percent at
14,665.92 points and the 50-share NSE index ended down 3.42
percent at 4,429.90 points, as investors took profits after a
near 90 percent rally over the past three months, with weak
Asian and European markets aiding the selloff.

GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 6.05 percent 2019 government bond yield ended at 6.58
percent, above Friday's close of 6.56 percent, on increasing
concerns on federal debt sales, after the government raised the
size of its sale for a fourth consecutive week.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee closed at 47.555/565 per dollar, from Friday's
close of 47.105/115, as a bout of uncertainty in equity markets
raised some doubts over whether the strong capital inflows of
recent months would continue.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS
----------------------------
The benchmark five-year interest rate swap ended at 6.22/28
percent, from Friday's close of 6.15/21 percent.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate ended at 3.20/30 percent, unchanged from
Friday's close, as banks were able to comfortably borrow for
their reserve needs amid robust cash conditions.
It had ended at the same level in an illiquid market on
Saturday.
GOLD <0#MAU:>

The August contract MAUQ9 on the Multi Commodity Exchange
of India at 14,590 rupees, down 45 rupees from the previous
close.
