RIS: Base metals futures show momentum on weak dollar
Base metal futures have been trading higher at the MCX, supported by buying interest as rupee appreciated against Dollar.
At the MCX, Zinc June contract is trading up 0.88%, at Rs 74.10 per kg. It opened at Rs 73.60 per kg as compared to its previous closing of Rs 73.45 per kg. (1.24 p.m., Wednesday).
Zinc July contract is also trading up 0.74% at Rs 75.10 per kg against its previous closing of Rs 74.55 per kg, while it opened at Rs 74.70 per kg and Zinc August contract was trading up 1.20% at Rs 76.05 per kg after opening at Rs 75.50 per kg, against its previous closing of Rs 75.15 per kg.
Copper June contract is increased by 0.49% to Rs 236.15 per kg today. It opened at Rs 235 as against its earlier close of Rs 235. It hovered in the range of Rs 237.05-235 per kg. Similarly, Copper August contract is also up 0.42% to Rs 238.60. It opened at Rs 236.75 as compared to its previous closing of Rs 237.60 and touched the highest level for the day at Rs 236.75 per kg.
Lead June contract is gained by 0.71% at Rs 78.30 per kg as compared to earlier close of Rs 77.75 and July contract is trading higher by 0.64% at Rs 78.75 per kg.
Likewise, Nickel July contract is quoted at Rs 722.70 per kg, up 1.08% as against of its previous close of Rs 710.80 and August contract moved higher by 1.07% at Rs 727.20 per kg.
