BLBG: Copper Falls in N.Y. as Equities Drop, Dimming Economic Outlook
July 8 (Bloomberg) -- Copper fell for a fourth straight session in New York as equity indexes slumped in Asia and Europe, dimming the outlook for an end to the global recession.
Copper futures for September delivery dropped 1.15 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $2.214 a pound at 8:10 a.m. on the New York Mercantile Exchange’s Comex unit. The MSCI World Index fell as much as 0.7 percent, heading for a fifth straight loss.
