MW: Dollar dips slightly after consumer price data
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The dollar dipped slightly against major counterparts early on Wednesday, after news that consumer prices rose in line with expectations in June, while a New York manufacturing index rose more than expected. The dollar index (DXY 79.41, -0.77, -0.96%) , which measures the U.S. unit against a basket of six major currencies, stood at 79.461, down from 79.643 earlier, and from 80.185 in late trade Tuesday.
