BRP: AngloPlat Earnings hit by falling metal prices
Anglo Platinum (Angloplat) expected a fall in interim earnings a share of between 65 percent and 75 percent year on year after commodity prices declined, the firm said yesterday. Headline earnings a share fell by between 90 percent to 99 percent despite an increase in output. Platinum traded at an average $1 102 (R9 090) an ounce in the first half, 43 percent less than a year earlier. Earnings a share were R35.47 in the first half of last year, while headline earnings a share were R35.63. The stock rose 2 percent to R520 yesterday. - Bloomberg
