RTRS: Dollar extends losses, index hits 6-week low
LONDON, July 20 (Reuters) - The dollar extended losses on Monday, pushing it to a six-week low against a basket of currencies as higher share prices stoked demand for risky assets.
The dollar index .DXY fell as low as 79.078 in early European trade, hitting its lowest level since early June.
A rise in the euro, which comprises much of the currency basket, to a three-week high of around $1.4190 on Monday helped to push the dollar index lower.
