MUMBAI (Reuters) - The rupee erased the previous session's gains and eased on Tuesday, tracking a fall in local equity prices.
* At 3:33 p.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 48.3850/3950 per dollar, lower than Monday's close of 48.21/22.
* On Monday, the rupee had risen to 48.18 during trade, its strongest since July 6 and gained 1.1 percent, which was its biggest one-day rise since the post-election rally on May 18, when it had risen 3.2 percent.
* The 30-share BSE index fell 0.85 percent on Tuesday as profit-taking emerged after the market rose 13.4 percent over the past five sessions.
