NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks fell at the open on Wednesday ahead of weekly petroleum supply data as the sector cooled off after two days of gains. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 935.83, -8.32, -0.88%) fell 1.3% to 932. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 432.77, -3.63, -0.83%) dropped 1.4% to 430. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 166.07, -3.35, -1.98%) subracted 2.5% to 165. Nabors Industries (NBR 16.29, -0.87, -5.07%) dropped 5.3% after it offered little hope of an impending rebound in the land drilling business in its quarterly financial update.
