LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar remained mixed versus major rivals Thursday after the U.S. Labor Department reported that weekly initial jobless claims rose by 30,000 to a total of 554,000 in the week ended July 18. The euro was up 0.1% versus the dollar at $1.4223. The dollar remained higher versus a broadly weaker Japanese yen to trade at 94.35 yen, a gain of 0.8% on the day.
