BLBG: Anglo Platinum, Murray & Roberts: South Africa Equity Preview

July 27 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in South Africa. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.
South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index rose 30.43 points, or 0.1 percent, to 23,943.98. The measure advanced 1.7 percent last week.
Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS SJ): The world’s largest platinum producer is scheduled to release its first-half results. The company fell 9.87 rand, or 1.7 percent, to 574.13 rand.
Murray & Roberts Ltd. (MUR SJ): South Africa’s biggest construction company won a 1.8 billion dirham order to build a hotel and homes in Abu Dhabi. Murray rose 1.59 rand, or 3.2 percent, to 51.49 rand.
Sappi Ltd. (SAP SJ): The world’s largest maker of glossy paper sold $797 million of five-year debt in dollars and euros, according to a person familiar with the transaction. The company rose 1.25 rand, or 5.6 percent, to 23.45 rand.
The following stocks will begin trading without the right to the latest dividends: Adcorp Holdings Ltd. (ADR SJ); ApexHi Properties Ltd. (APA SJ); Fairvest Property Holdings Ltd. (FVT SJ); Investec Ltd. (INL SJ); Madison Property Fund Managers Holdings Ltd. (MDN SJ); MiX Telematics (MIX SJ); Moneyweb Holdings Ltd. (MNY SJ); Nampak Ltd. (NPK SJ); Peregrine Holdings Ltd. (PGR SJ); Redefine Income Fund Ltd. (RDF SJ); Reunert Ltd. (RLO SJ); Telemasters Holdings Ltd. (TLM SJ).
Shares or American depositary receipts of the following South African companies closed as follows:
Anglo American Plc (AAUK US) fell 0.8 percent to $15.78. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU US) shed 0.9 percent to $39.24. BHP Billiton Ltd. (BBL US) dropped 0.5 percent to $51.83. DRDGold Ltd. (DROOY US) lost 1.9 percent to $7.93. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) slumped 1.1 percent to $11.88. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) was down 1.3 percent to $9.40. Impala Platinum Holdings Co. (IMPUY US) dropped 4.22 percent to $23.38. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) rose 4.8 percent to $3.08. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) slid 1.5 percent to $36.36. Telkom South Africa Ltd. (TKG US) rose 1.4 percent to $21.60.
