NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Oil futures rose Monday after data showed that sales of new homes in the United States rose by the biggest amount since November 2008 in June, climbing by 11% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 384,000. Light sweet crude for September delivery surged 48 cents to $68.50 a barrel in electronic trading on Globex.
