RTTN: Dollar Drifts Higher Against European Majors
(RTTNews) - The US dollar gained ground against its European major rivals in early New York trading on Tuesday. The greenback advanced to 1.4204 against the euro, 1.072 versus the Swiss franc and 1.6468 against the pound around 9:20 am ET from a session's lows of 1.4306, 1.0661 and 1.6558, respectively.
Latest report from the Standard and Poor's showed that the S&P/Case-Shiller 20-City Composite Home Price Index fell at an annual rate of 17.1 percent in May compared to the 18.1 percent decrease reported for April. Economists had expected the report to show that prices fell 17.9 percent year-over-year.
