NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of some top gold companies were up at the close of trading:
Barrick Gold rose $.64 or 1.7 percent, to $37.41.
Gold Fields rose $.18 or 1.5 percent, to $12.15.
Goldcorp rose $.42 or 1.1 percent, to $37.09.
Newmont Mining rose $1.03 or 2.1 percent, to $49.38.
