SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures added to gains Tuesday following a report showing consumer confidence rebounded in March. Oil for May delivery recently traded 22 cents, or 0.3%, higher at $82.39 a barrel, compared to a gain of 14 cents ahead of the 10 a.m. Eastern release. The consumer confidence index rose to 52.5 in March from 46.4 in February, the Conference Board said. Natural gas was modestly lower, off a penny, or 0.5%, at $3.897 per million British thermal units. Gold futures held to losses.
