(RTTNews) - The price of gold eased Tuesday morning as the U.S. dollar ticked higher versus a basket of currencies.
Gold for June was down $6.9 to $1,126.90 an ounce, after settling near its 3-week high in the previous session.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar was generally stronger this morning, but eased below parity versus its Canadian counterpart for first time since 2008.
The greenback has been stable amid a slew of positive news from the U.S., including services sector and housing data released Monday on top of an encouraging jobs data released last Friday.
Elsewhere, the prices of silver and platinum were also edging lower in morning deals.
