NEW DELHI: Silver prices moved up Rs 120 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 27,334 per kg in futures trading on Wednesday on heavy buying by traders on the back of firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for May contract rose Rs 120, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 27,334 per kg, with an open interest of 13,834 lots.
The metal for delivery in July contract also traded higher by Rs 106, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 27,483 per kg in 3,393 lots.
Market analysts said, increased buying by traders on the back of firming global trend mainly led to a rise in silver prices at futures market.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 79 cent at $ 17.96 an ounce in the Asian region.
