RTRS: Spot platinum rises to 20-month high above $1,739/oz
TOKYO, April 22 (Reuters) - Spot platinum rose above $1,739 per ounce on Thursday, its highest since August 2008, exceeding the previous high marked a day earlier as the precious metal maintained its momentum on expectations of economic recovery.
Spot platinum had risen as high as $1,739.50 before trading at $1,739 by 0443 GMT, compared with the notional close in New York of $1,731. (Reporting by Risa Maeda)
