NEW DELHI: Copper futures prices fell marginally by Rs 0.30 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 345.50 per kg today, as traders booked profits after yesterday's gain amid weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April contract fell Rs 0.30, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 345.50 per kg in an open interest of 19,494 lots, while it ended 0.40 per cent higher at Rs 345.80 per kg in the previous session.
The metal for delivery in June also shed Rs 0.20, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 347.90 per kg, with an open interest of 5,863 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in copper futures prices to profit-taking by speculators and weak trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
