SINGAPORE: Singapore shares closed higher on Monday, in line with regional markets on back of easing worries over Greece's debt problems.
The blue chip Straits Times Index was 0.47 per cent higher at closing bell, up 14.13 points at 3,002.62.
Some 2.05 billion shares exchanged hands at a value of S$1.53 billion, with gainers outnumbering losers 344 to 199.
Rig builder shares were cheered by prospects of securing contracts from Brazilian oil firm Petrobras. Keppel Corp. jumped 3.8 per cent to S$10.44 while Sembcorp Marine increased 3.2 per cent to S$4.47.
However, Sembcorp Industries ended 1.1 per cent lower at S$4.39 as it started trading ex-dividend.
Bank shares were mostly positive, with DBS rising 0.4 per cent to end at S$15.54, UOB gained 0.2 per cent at S$20.26, and OCBC was flat at S$8.81.
Commodities were also in the black, with Olam International up 2.3 per cent at S$2.69, Wilmar International one per cent higher at S$7.01, and Golden Agri Resources gaining 0.8 per cent at S$0.615.
