LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks continued their advance Friday, highlighted by gains among financial stocks. The financial group as tracked on the S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,085, +13.36, +1.25%) rose nearly 4%, pushing the broad-market index up 1.5%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA 10,157, +89.48, +0.89%) surged 110 points, or 1.1%, to 10,179, and the Nasdaq Composite (COMP 2,232, +27.97, +1.27%) rose 1.6% to 2,238. |
