The euro edged higher on the dollar Friday as worries about the euro zone banking sector appeared to ease, but the common currency remains on track to end May with its sixth consecutive monthly decline amid long-running worries over sovereign debt.
Early Friday, the euro was buying $1.2391, up from $1.2362 late Thursday in New York. The euro also rose to 112.95 yen, up from 112.42 yen.
