NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures erased their gains Friday as Europe's common currency hit a new four-year low against the dollar, with the rise of the U.S. currency smacking commodities and other assets priced in the greenback. The gold contract for August delivery fell $3.00 to $1,205.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Investors were also waiting for the U.S. May payrolls report, which is expected to show a gain of 500,000 jobs.
