RTTN: Aussie Slides To 10-day Low Against NZ Dollar
(RTTNews) - The Australian dollar weakened against its major opponents in early New York trading on Friday. The aussie slumped to a 10-day low of 1.2289 against the New Zealand dollar by 8:35 am ET, compared to 1.2347 hit late New York Thursday. The next downside target for the aussie-kiwi pair is seen at 1.2210. Currently, the pair is quoted at 1.2316.
The aussie also fell to a 2-day low of 76.30 against the Japanese yen and 0.8301 against the US dollar at this time and this may be compared to yesterday's closing quotes of 78.33 and 0.8448, respectively. On the downside, the aussie may target support levels at 75.0 against the yen and 0.8230 against the greenback.
The Australian dollar also reached a 2-day low of 0.8711 against the Canadian dollar before leveling off around 8:35 am ET. The aussie-loonie pair, which finished yesterday's deals at 0.8789, is presently worth 0.8725 with 0.8660 seen as the next likely support level.
The Australian currency also eased after hitting a 16-day high of 1.4354 against the euro around 8:15 am ET. The euro-aussie pair that closed yesterday's deals at 1.4406 is presently trading at 1.4491.
