BS: Base metals firm up on higher global cues
 
Led by nickel, base metals prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on good industrial demand amidst a rising trend in London Metal Exchange (LME).

Nickel hardened by Rs 20 per kilo to Rs 1,075 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 1,055.

Tin and copper scrap heavy both rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 935 and Rs 351 as against Rs 930 and Rs 346 previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all moved up by Rs 4 per kilo each to Rs 354, Rs 347, Rs 333, Rs 382 and Rs 345, respectively.

Brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 251. Brass sheet cutting and zinc inched up by a rupee each to Rs 258 and Rs 108.

However, lead eased by a rupee to Rs 102.
