NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose above $76 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, as stocks fell in Asia, but made a modest comeback in Europe.
Stocks dropped 1.18 percent in China Wednesday after drop of more than 4 percent Tuesday. Stocks in Japan were down 1.96 percent Wednesday, but showed gains in Sweden and Germany.
U.S. stocks showed modest gains in early trading.
Crude oil prices rose overnight, adding 24 cents to a prior settlement to $76.25 per barrel. Heating oil prices shed 0.0043 cents to $2.017 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices gained 0.0079 cents to $2.0799 per gallon.
Henry Hub natural gas added 0.011 cents $4.559 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline was unchanged Wednesday at $2.755 per gallon, AAA said.
