(RTTNews) - Extending previous session uptrend, the Japanese yen spiked up further against major currencies during New York morning trading on Friday. The yen climbed to new multi-month high versus the US dollar.
The yen advanced further against its US counterpart in today's morning deals and hit a fresh multi-month high of 86.28 by about 10:05 am ET. The pair that closed yesterday's New York session at 87.39, is now trading near 86.48.
After a slight weakness in early European session, the yen surged up against the euro in New York morning today. At 10:05 am ET, the yen jumped to a 3-day high of 111.57 versus the euro from early low of 113.37. The pair closed Thursday's New York session at 113.17. Currently, the yen is worth 111.77 versus the euro.
The Japanese currency also extending its previous session downtrend against the Swiss franc and the British pound in North American morning session. At present, the yen is trading at 9-day highs of 82.12 against the franc and 132.30 versus the sterling from yesterday's closing values of 83.98 and 135.14, respectively.
