NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks continued their rise Monday after big gains in the previous session. Buoyed by the end of Tropical Storm Bonnie and a healthier outlook from FedEx (FDX 82.53, +3.57, +4.52%) , the NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 974.78, +4.92, +0.51%) rose 0.3% to 973. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 519.97, +2.47, +0.48%) rose 0.5% to 520. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 178.86, -0.67, -0.37%) traded flat at 179. BP PLC (BP 37.94, +1.08, +2.93%) rose 2.7% on reports the company may soon replace CEO Tony Hayward.
