ONG: World Oil Prices Rise on U.S. Economic Forecast
The price of oil on world commodity exchanges was growing Monday morning as experts forecast the U.S. was slowly overcoming its recession.
The price of a September futures contract for WTI light sweet crude in electronic trading on Nymex was up 41 cents to $81.11 a barrel by 7:15 Moscow time. The price of a September futures contract for North Sea Brent blend has risen 43 cents to $80.59 in London.
Oil prices had fallen last Friday. September WTI contracts were down $1.31 to $80.70 a barrel, while September Brent contracts were off $1.45 to $80.16.
