NEW DELHI: Lead futures today strengthened by Rs 0.85, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 102.75 per kg after the metal prices firmed up in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract of lead rose by Rs 0.85, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 102.75 per kg.
The metal contract for delivery in September gained Rs 0.60, or 0.59 per cent, at Rs 101.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 45 lots.
At the London Metal Exchange, lead advanced 1.1 per cent to USD 2,184 a tonne in early trade today.
Analysts attributed the rise in prices to firming trend overseas on weaker dollar, which raised appeal for the commodities as an alternative investment and better demand from battery makers at the physical market here.
