NEW YORK—Crude futures ventured slightly higher despite lower equities markets, as the dollar fell slightly against competing currencies.
Light, sweet crude for September delivery recently traded up 25 cents, or 0.3%, at $75.64 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange fell one cent to $75.10 a barrel.
Oil prices traded near neutral for the second-straight session, pausing after a drop of more than $5 last week due to a weakening outlook on the global economy.
