Oil prices dropped Tuesday ahead of some key data reports due out later this week, reports The Associated Press.
New York's light sweet crude for October delivery dropped $1.08 to $73.62 per barrel.
"Oil prices continue to struggle as sentiment remains weak due to underwhelming economic data in the United States," analyst David Hart told AP. "Fears of a further slowdown in economic growth and high stockpiles of supply will continue to keep a lid on prices."
