MW: U.S. stock futures fall as jobless claims rise

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures fell further on Thursday after the government's weekly data on jobless claims showed an increase in those applying for benefits after two weekly falls. "The labor market remains weak," said Dan Greenhaus, chief economic strategist at Miller Tabak. Robust hiring is unlikely to occur for several more quarters, Greenhaus added. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were down 86 points to 10,587. Those for the S&P 500 declined 11.3 points to 1,118.5, while Nasdaq 100 futures were off 14.5 points at 1,965.25.
