ENM: Base metals soften on lower global trend
 
NEW DELHI: Select base metal prices fell up to Rs 2 per kg in the non-ferrous metal market today in tandem with a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.

Traders said selling by stockists on fall in demand and reports of weakening trend in global markets mainly led to a decline in select base metal prices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.5 per cent to USD 7,902, zinc by one per cent to USD 2,225.50 and lead by 0.3 per cent to USD 2,290 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 411, Rs 430 and Rs 391 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot followed suit and lost Rs 2 to to Rs 121.50, while lead ingot and lead imported shed rupee one each to Rs 125 and Rs 127 per kg.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per kg: Tin ingot 800, zinc ingot 121.50, nickel plate (4x4) 955- 959, gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 411, copper wire bar 430, copper mixed scrap 391.00, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital 175.

Lead ingot 125, lead imported 127, aluminium ingots 100, sheet cutting 103, aluminium wire scrap 100 and aluminium utensils scrap 100.
