NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks rose with the broad market on Tuesday. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 1,050, +12.48, +1.20%) rose 1.2% to 1,050. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 532.38, +4.01, +0.76%) rose 0.8% to 533. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 194.29, -3.84, -1.94%) rose 1.3% to 197. Plains Exploration & Production Co. (PXP 27.02, +1.10, +4.24%) rose 4% to $27.03. Chevron (CVX 82.15, +0.84, +1.03%) rose 1% to $82.18. |
