MW: Treasurys up, dollar slides after Bernanke remarks
 
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- U.S. Treasurys rose Friday after U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said there was a "case for further action" on the monetary policy front amid high unemployment and low inflation. Treasury prices rose, pushing the yield on the 10-year T-note down by around 4 basis points to around 2.47%, according to FactSet data, while the 30-year bond yield fell by around 3 basis points to 3.89%. The U.S. dollar extended losses versus major rivals, temporarily dropping back below 80 yen versus the Japanese currency and trading at 81.01 yen in recent action, a fall of 0.7% on the day. The euro rose 0.7% versus the dollar to trade at $1.4131.
