RTTN: Pound Weakens Further Against Euro, Yen And Swiss Franc
(RTTNews) - U.K.'s sterling extended its recent downtrend against the currencies of Europe, Japan and Switzerland on Monday morning in New York.
The pound plunged to a 4-day low of 1.5175 against the Swiss franc around 10:45 am ET and the pair is approaching to last week's fresh lows of 1.5097. Currently, the pound-franc pair is trading at 1.5180.
The pound that jumped to a 6-day high of 0.8707 against the euro in the previous session staged a retreat in New York morning. The pound slipped to as low as 0.8797 against the common currency before leveling off around 10:50 am ET. At present, the pound is trading at 0.8790 versus the euro.
The pound also slipped to as low as 128.93 against the yen before reversing direction around 10:50 am ET. The pound-yen pair is presently quoted at 129.12.
