MN: Gold Fields resumes operations at Driefontein shaft
Gold Fields (GFIJ.J: Quote), the world's fourth-largest gold miner, said on Friday it had resumed operations at its Driefontein No. 1 shaft in South Africa after the government lifted a suspension it had put in place following a fatality.
"Section 54 has been lifted with some restrictions, but they are technical and will not impact production. Operations will resume immediately," spokesman Sven Lunsche told Reuters. (Reporting by Agnieszka Flak)
