NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks rose with the broad equities market Friday, even as crude oil futures dipped, after reports surfaced of a cease fire in Libya. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 1,327, +16.43, +1.25%) rose 1l.5% to 1,331. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 665.75, +4.68, +0.71%) rose 1% to 668. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 279.01, 0.00, 0.00%) rose 1.4% to 238. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA 11,924, +149.13, +1.27%) rose 142 points. Crude oil futures fell slightly to $101.30 a a barrel. |
