Mumbai, Apr 15 (PTI) Nickel and tin prices rose modestly at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to renewed industrial demand.
Meanwhile, brass, zinc, aluminium and copper scrap heavy eased on lower offtake from consumer industries.
In overseas trade, base metals traded mixed on the London Metal Exchange ahead of the Chinese inflation data and worries over tightening of monetary policy to contain it.
Nickel strengthend by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 1,335 from its overnight closing level of Rs 1,328 and tin firmed up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,640 as compared to Rs 1,635 in the previous session.
Copper sheets cutting also inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 448.
However, brass sheets cutting edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 324 from Rs 326 yesterday.
Brass utensils scrap, zinc, aluminium ingots and copper scrap heavy, all softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 315, Rs 131, Rs 138 and Rs 462, respectively.
