NEW YORK (TheStreet ) -- Gold and silver prices were mixed Thursday as gold edged slightly higher on safe haven buying while silver headed lower along with palladium.
Gold for August delivery was adding $1.10 to $1,544.30 an ounce at the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold has traded as high as $1,545 and as low as $1,538.30 while the spot gold price was up $3.50, according to Kitco's gold index.
Silver prices for July delivery were losing 55 cents to $37.14 an ounce while the U.S. dollar index was 0.64% lower at $74.37.
