A mixed trend was witnessed in ferrous and non-ferrous metals today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In ferrous metals, a positive trend was seen as brass utensils and brass cuttings which fell yesterday by Rs.200, recovered today by the same value on good demand from industrial users.
Brass utensils and brass cuttings finished positive at Rs.30,800 and Rs.31,600 per quintal respectively.
Similarly, copper heavy and copper utensils also rallied by Rs.100 and Rs.300 per quintal respectivly due to lesser stock supply from stockists.
Aluminium utensils remained steady on sporadic demand, traders said.
However, in non-ferrous metal category, a negative trend was seen as zinc slab drifted lower by Rs.100 per quintal because of lower demand from stockists.
Even, tin slab and nickel cathode eased by Rs.3 and Rs.5 per kg respectively on thin demand from local dealers.
Sole, copper wire bars advanced by Rs.100 to Rs 48,900 per quintal on improved demand from stockists, traders added.
